A note from us…

We intentionally provide as little information as possible when discussing our wines. We do not do this to be pompous or evasive, but instead to help you develop your impressions of our wine free from influence. We hold mild disdain for the language used around wine, and the suggestion that the palate of the winemaker knows best. By not leading with variety, technical notes about elevage, or the stylistic decisions we make, we encourage you to formulate your own opinions, find what most excites you, and develop a wine vocabulary that you feel empowered to use. If you prefer to know the specifics, you can find all technical notes below.

xoxo, Amiti.

2022 Still in the Clouds

pH: 3.3 - TA: 6g/L - RS: 16g/L

Alc: 11.35% - VA: .39g/L - 48 cases produced

Due to higher than anticipated yields, we were offered a small amount of fruit from our dear friend’s vineyard last minute. We naturally said yes, as we have had our eye on Tuckaway Vineyard for some time. A co-fermented blend of roughly 60% Chenin, 25% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Blanc and 5% Melon de Bourgogne, the fruit was whole bunch pressed, and settled for 48 hours prior to racking to neutral french barrique. After 24 months on lees, a portion of the wine had refused to go dry. We felt the wine was showing quite beautifully, so we aged the wine for an additional 4 months in tank, at which point it was bottled. Please note the high level of dissolved CO2 is intentional. This is not a sign of re-fermentation in bottle. No fining or filtration.

pH: 3.73 - TA: 4.8g/L -

Alc: 14.89% - VA: .52g/L - 54 cases produced

Made from 100% Grenache, this is a wine of second chances. After a complete loss at one of our vineyard sites in the gorge, we were offered some of this fruit last minute. Own rooted vines planted in sandy soils back in 2000, this vineyard sits more or less on the Columbia. Thanks to the cooling winds that blow off of the river - sometimes up to 40mph - the resulting wines from here maintain excellent acid profile. 100% destemmed and fermented with the watering can method, this wine saw no cap manipulation whatsoever. The wine was gently pressed and aged in natural french barriques for 14 months. It saw 1 month in tank prior to bottling. No fining or filtration.

2024 Melting Popsicles

pH: 3.84 - TA: 5.8g/L -

Alc: 12.23% - VA: .49g/L - 70 cases produced

Thanks to our dear friends AD and Joelene of Empowered Flowers, we were connected with Dave Ward. Dave planted his entire vineyard to Leon Millot back in 2000. Never sprayed, only seeing organic nutrient applications here and there, this vineyard is truly a sustainable model. Picked in late August, 3/4 of the fruit was completely destemmed and underwent submerged cap, while the remaining 1/4 was fermented carbonically for 20 days. After pressing, the wine finished fermentation in stainless steel, at which point it was transferred to neutral french barriques for 4 months. It was then racked to tank where it aged for 1 month prior to bottling. No fining or filtration.
